Fondue for New Year's Eve

I could not help myself.  After being out of any thrift store for weeks on end, I decided to donate some clothes before the end of the year and, of course, had to look around.  When what do my wandering eyes fall upon, but this classic orange fondue set.  Looks like fondue for New Year's Eve!

Today my husband found a box of Toast Coasters - 'two dozen colorful coasters, each with its own Sprightly Toast' - I love the fonts and the great pictures.

Church Rummage Sales

Duck Terrine

Strolling through a church rummage sale a couple of weekends ago, I came across this gem.  Would it be bad to put chicken liver pate in there?

A Whale of a Find

I found this quite unusual casserole dish in a thrift store in Allentown, PA.  The whale on the top has a blow hole that acts to let the steam out.  I have never seen anything like this!

Confessions of a Cookware Addict

I am addicted to cookware.  I don't really know when it started, but I remember when I realized it.  No, it wasn't when I transformed my cellar staircase to hang all of my pots and pans.  It wasn't even when I bought endless shelving for my basement to store all of the machines, glassware, etc that I was unable to fit in my kitchen.  It was from the movies.  Watching movies mostly about food.  You know the ones - Big Night, Mostly Martha, Tortilla Soup, etc.  Watching them I realized that I was much more focused on the cookware and gadgets than I was on the food (or the plot line for that matter).   Mesmerized really.   Mostly Martha - the kitchen filled with stainless pots and pans and racks hanging with gadgets. Tortilla Soup - get a load of those casserole dishes and soup tureens.  Big Night - love those copper pots and pans!
